Planning scarf labels and gift packaging

Bring the scarf, label and presentation together by planning the small details before the final order is agreed.

Scarf gift packaging concept with tissue paper and blank labels

The way a scarf is presented can make a collection feel considered. A neatly placed label, a suitable fold and a coordinated package should work with the product and the way it will be received.

Decide what the packaging needs to do

Start with the use case. A retail presentation, an individual gift and a bulk delivery do not necessarily need the same format. Consider how the scarf will be displayed, stored and passed to the final customer.

Make a distinction between the presentation around each scarf and the outer packaging used for transport. Clarifying both helps avoid a situation where the gift format is planned but the packing requirements are left until the last conversation.

Plan the label as part of the scarf

Share the wording or artwork you want to use and where you would like it placed. Think about the scarf when tied as well as when it is laid flat. A label should suit the dimensions and intended styling of the piece.

If you have specific care or material information that needs to appear, provide the confirmed wording with your brief. Ask which label formats and attachment options can be reviewed for the selected product.

Build a simple packaging specification

Describe the presentation in a way that can be checked. An attractive reference image is useful, but it does not communicate every dimension or packing instruction.

  • Format: the box, bag, sleeve or other presentation you want to discuss.
  • Fit: how the scarf should be folded and the space needed around it.
  • Brand details: logo files, preferred colours and placement.
  • Contents: scarf, tissue, card, tag or other components to be considered.
  • Quantity split: which products or designs share the same packaging.
  • Packing instructions: individual presentation and outer carton requirements.

Review the complete set

When sample arrangements are discussed, review the scarf and packaging together where possible. Check whether the fold presents the intended part of the pattern, whether the label is positioned as expected and whether the presentation is easy to open and put back.

Keep the agreed changes in one place. If the artwork, scarf dimensions or packaging format changes, ask whether the other parts of the set also need to be reviewed.

Confirm options before committing to the order

Available formats, quantities, costs and timing depend on the products and components selected. A concept photograph can help explain a direction, but the actual specification should be agreed for your project.
